| WHO
WE ARE
Seventh-day Adventists are people
of hope who are committed to promoting the biblical
message of quality of life for the present and
the future. In keeping with that principle, Seventh-day
Adventists believe the Bible teaches a weekly
seventh-day Sabbath day of rest and worship and
the promise of Christ's second coming or "Advent."
Hence the name, Seventh-day Adventist.
The New Life Seventh-day Adventist
Church was organized in 1999 to share with the
community of Delta and its environs practical
life skills through community programs and projects
and to minister the love of Jesus through fellowship
and worship.
Through planned programs and
activities it is the one purpose of this community
of believers to inspire and share and make a positive
difference in the world and the community.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The Seventh-day Adventist Church
worldwide is organized into several different
levels to aid in the administration of more than
12 million members. The world church is broken
into 12 world divisions, which are in turn divided
into regional "union conferences." These
union conferences are further divided into local
conferences which in turn are directly responsible
for local churches within their area. Following
this plan, the North American Division of the
world church (encompassing Canada and the United
States) contains 9 union conferences. The Canadian
Union Conference is one of these and is responsible
for seven local conferences in the Canada: Alberta,
British Columbia, Manitoba-Saskatchewan, Maritime,
Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador. |
